Browse Picture Galleries With Firefox’s URL Flipper

We all love picture galleries, and it’s more fun if the picture changes with minimum effort. For this reason there are slideshows which are completely automatic. But many picture galleries do not offer slideshows. Here’s a cool trick to flip images in picture galleries in Mozilla Firefox — The URL Flipper.

It’s one of the coolest utilities, and can save much of your time. What is does is, it examines the URL of the gallery and identifies which part of it needs to be changed to flip to the other image. Why am I specifying only picture galleries here? Well, the reason is quite obvious. This utility works optimally well in picture galleries because there is a pattern in a URL which keeps changing, keeping the rest of the URL same. Let’s see how to get it done. First, you are required to download and install the URL Flipper add-on for Mozilla Firefox. Now follow the steps below.

1) Open Firefox. Navigate to ‘History’ — ‘URL Flipper’ — ‘Increment URL’.

2) You will be taken to the URL Pattern Setup window. Here you will see some intuitive options which you need to tweak. However, in most cases, Firefox itself determines which segment of the URL needs to change and it will highlight it. Click ‘OK’ to save the preferences.

3) Now whenever you need to flip the URL, just press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+UP ARROW. Alternatively, you can click ‘History’ — ‘URL Flipper’ — ‘Quick-Increment URL’. For navigating backwards, use DOWN ARROW instead.
